A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is a unique and effective assessment strategy that allows for the assessment of an individual’s function, primarily related to their occupation. A FCE provides valuable, objective information regarding the individual’s abilities/disabilities, and how these affect the individual’s ability to perform various job demands within a given occupation.

The FCE is generally performed over a two-day period and is generally done at the request of insurance providers who are seeking objective data that they use to determine safe parameters for return to work and/or vocational retraining.
