Mechanical Traction

Therapeutic spinal traction utilizes either manual or mechanical devices to stretch and mobilize the spine. Traction has been clinically shown to alleviate back and neck discomfort by stretching tight spinal musculature. As well, it can help widen the inter-vertebral spaces (the space from which the spinal nerve exits) to relieve nerve root impingement or sciatica. Home traction units are available for neck (cervical) conditions.
